Anna Pires

Biodata

Anna Pires is an English language teacher, teacher trainer, and materials writer with nearly 30 years of experience. She is a teacher trainer for APPI and Pilgrims and an author with Porto Editora, having developed coursebooks and digital resources for Portugal, Angola, Mozambique, Cabo Verde, and East Timor.

She is the co-founder and co-coordinator of the APPI Mindful EFL SIG, where she delivers webinars and online sessions, as well as develops projects on mindfulness, social-emotional learning, and well-being for teachers and students.

Her professional passions include humanistic and learner-centred approaches, mindfulness in education, multimodality, and the creative use of songs and music videos in ELT. She also integrates intercultural awareness into her work, drawing inspiration from Lusophone cultures and her own Portuguese–Canadian background.
