The U.S. Embassy and APPI, together with Fulbright Portugal, American Corners Portugal, and a number of universities across Portugal, are organizing a national English Spelling Bee competition in Portugal in the 2014-2015 school year (for 9^th and 10^th graders only).

Ahead of the grand finale in Lisbon on 9 May, we will be hosting a number of regional events in Lisbon, the Margem Sul (Caparica), Porto, Braga, Aveiro, Faro, the Azores, Madeira and several other cities in Portugal in the coming months, beginning with the first Regional English Spelling Bee in Ponta Delgada, S. Miguel, on 6 November, followed by other regional events in Angra do Heroismo, Terceira, on 7 November, and in Porto on 4 December.
