“The world of language teaching has been turned upside-down by the global pandemic. The imperative to support staff has increased both emotionally and professionally. Two well-tried approaches to supporting the staff’s well-being and professional development are mentoring and coaching. In this talk, we will discuss why both these approaches are particularly useful in a crisis. We will then discuss how to combine them in a principled way and how to implement these principles and skills, when time is short and need is great, and when some staff are working remotely.”
