- The U.S. Embassy in Lisbon: Webinar -
Supporting and Empowering Students with Disabilities
November 24, 5:30 p.m.- 6:30 p.m.
"The U.S. Embassy in Lisbon is organizing a one-hour virtual session in English, tomorrow, November 24 at 5:30 p.m. on the topic Supporting and Empowering Students with Disabilities. In this one-hour session, we will be addressing many important topics relating to resources, best practices, and insights on how to better support and empower students with disabilities.
This month, dedicated to the International Education Week, the Embassy invited two speakers to participate in this webinar:
- Ashley Holben the Program Specialist for the non-profit organization Mobility International USA (MIUSA). For over ten years, Ashley has supported the U.S. Department of State-sponsored project, the National Clearinghouse on Disability and Exchange, to promote the participation, representation, and leadership of people with disabilities in international exchange.
- Ana Rita Pinéu is 2010 Fulbright alumna and currently a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist. After a few years working as an Education Specialist for the European Commission at their Early Childhood Centers (OIB Garderies, 2014-2017), she returned to the United States to continue her journey in Deaf Education at Weingarten Children’s Center, where she has been working as a teacher (on-site and itinerant) and as a language therapist for children ages 0-5.
Please join us for this important topic by joining for free at the Zoom link below. Since our ZOOM room is limited to a maximum of 500 participants, it will be a policy of first-come, first-serve. We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow, and please bring your questions!"
